In April, flatfish may also migrate to shallower waters to spawn, but they generally remain within the 50-100 meter depth range. **

A suitable device for flatfish fishing from a boat would be a bottom fishing rig with a weight to keep the bait on the ocean floor. This rig typically consists of a sinker, a swivel, a leader line, and a hook. The weight helps to keep the bait in the strike zone for flatfish, which are bottom-dwelling fish. Additionally, using a rod and reel with a sensitive tip can help detect the subtle bites of flatfish. **
